Why doesn't Yahoo post a notice about the mail problems on MyYahoo home page?

Yahoo should have the common courtesy to not force users to get an error message indicating servers are undergoing maintenance (during prime time, no less!) when we try to access the mail page. A redirect to a message page with a real explanation and a notice on users' MyYahoo page would at least let us know you give a hoot about your users....
