I need to get to the hard drive of my old comp?

the tower broke and now i need to get info off of it is there a chord i can use to plug from my laptop to the comp to get the information off of the hard drive be simple yet specific in your answer i am willing to hack if that is what it takes but id rather use one of those system recovery things but prefferably the chord
