Road-tripping through British Columbia in winter?

You can do it but it might be cold in Banff, real cold. I've been there in December when it - 30F and I've been there when it was above freezing. A good way to do a road trip in Summer would be to take Hwy. 97 northbound and Hwy. 5 southbound or Viceversa. In Winter, avoid 97. It can be icey from Prince George to Hope and much of it is a two lane, windy highway, usually with a lot of drivers in a hurry on it. I don't think you'll see much wildlife.
