What's the warmest big city (with University) near the Jasper National Park?

I'd like to move to Canada (British Columbia or Alberta) to study for my post-degree and then live, because I love the Jasper National Park. I thought to move to Edmonton but it's damn cold and also very far from the Park, so I thought maybe you can help me finding a big warm (enough) city as close as possible to the park to which I could move, possibly equipped with a University.
